Hi, I’m Jen. This is my blog & writing portfolio.
I’m a thirty-year-old queer woman living in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia. I’m a writer, an activist, a bookworm, a feminist, a body modification enthusiast, and a vegetarian. I studied Gender & Women’s studies at Hollins University. I’ve also had a pretty rad and life-changing experience working as an intern at Planned Parenthood.
I’m an INFP through-and-through (think Bastian from The Neverending Story). I’m an idealist at heart, determined to change the world one mind at a time.
I am passionate about sex education, reproductive justice & health, body acceptance, feminist/queer activism, and issues of class & poverty. I like to think and write about social justice, gender, race, class, feminism, sexuality, body image, culture, and mental illness.
I also enjoy practicing yoga, hoop dancing, using social media for social change, having conversations that tickle my brain in all the right places, and spending time with my four very spoiled parrots.
